Stem Cell Therapy McHenry County, Kane County, & Lake County | Fox River MedSpa Algonquin, IL
Stem Cell Therapy in Algonquin, IL
Cutting-edge regenerative medicine, delivered locally. Ultrasound-guided Wharton’s Jelly injections for joints, cartilage, and tendons — performed by a nurse practitioner with more than 30 years in orthopedics.
Regenerative injections give the body concentrated support for repairing tissue that does not heal well on its own — cartilage, meniscus, tendon. Our approach uses Wharton’s Jelly, and treatment is completed in a single visit.
Pricing
Call (224) 241-8489 to discuss pricing for your specific treatment plan — cost depends on the joint or area being treated and how many sites are involved.
What We Treat
- Knees
- Hips
- Shoulders
- Cartilage
- Meniscus
- Tendon
- Spine and vertebral joints
Injections are ultrasound guided, so placement is confirmed visually rather than estimated. For spinal treatment, multiple surrounding points are addressed in the same session.
Why Wharton’s Jelly
Wharton’s Jelly is the protective connective tissue found in the umbilical cord. It is collected only from scheduled live births, from healthy screened mothers and healthy screened babies — meaning the tissue is effectively zero days old at the point of collection, which is not true of any adult-derived source.
Because umbilical tissue is immunologically well tolerated, it is widely used without the matching requirements that other tissue sources involve.
Sourcing & Handling
- Donor screened and baby screened before collection
- Third-party tested for safety and content
- Supplied by New Life Biomedicals
- Ordered by appointment only — each dose is obtained for your scheduled treatment
- Delivered on liquid nitrogen and held in a deep-freeze cooler on site until use
Because product is ordered per appointment rather than kept in general stock, scheduling ahead matters — this is not a same-day walk-in treatment.
Your Provider
Treatment is performed by Michelle, NP, who brings more than 30 years of orthopedic experience to every injection. That background is the reason we offer ultrasound-guided placement as standard rather than as an upgrade.
Stem Cell Therapy Compared to PRP
We offer both, and they are not interchangeable. The most practical difference is the course of treatment:
- Stem cell therapy — a single treatment
- PRP — typically a series of three treatments
PRP has the longer clinical track record and remains the more widely accepted option, which makes it the right starting point for many patients. Stem cell therapy is the more intensive intervention, generally considered when a single decisive treatment is preferred or when other approaches have not delivered. Which one suits you depends on the joint, the severity, your history, and your budget — we will talk through both honestly at your consultation.
For plasma-based options see Enriched Plasma Therapy.
What to Expect
- No anesthesia required
- One treatment rather than a series
- Ultrasound-guided placement
- Performed in-office
Your provider will review the full aftercare plan and a realistic timeline with you before treatment. Regenerative results develop gradually as tissue responds over the following weeks and months rather than immediately.
Is Stem Cell Therapy Right for You?
Candidacy matters here more than with most treatments we offer, and not everyone is a good fit. A consultation lets us assess the joint, review your history and imaging, and tell you honestly whether this is the right intervention — or whether trigger point injections, shockwave, PRP, or another approach would serve you better.
