This would have been our 8th Holiday season at C’Ville, but it’s time to face reality. My business has changed. The industry is evolving. So are we. Our C’Ville location was a fantastic entrepreneurial starting point, with great memories and so many lessons, but it’s no longer viable. Our lease is up and it doesn’t make sense to renew at this time.
The thought of signing another 2 year lease, shelling out for repairs, reducing support staff and asking the team to work under less than 5-star conditions – all while they, too, are making less money – is not the culture, vibe, or way I want to operate a Salon. I don’t want to operate a half-ass business, and my Stylists don’t want to work for one. They are talented and have options.
It has been an incredible adventure, fulfilling and empowering, hearbreaking and joyous… all the things… but the numbers and business model don’t make sense anymore. Salons can be a profitable business, especially if an owner/operator is on-site (which I haven’t been for 3 years), OR there’s enough margin to afford great support staff and management (which there isn’t anymore).
When we re-opened in June after shutdown, I thought we’d be able to grow back through it. We made some tough changes and came back into the game fully expecting to ride this thing out. However, it’s just not happening fast enough. Our building has some expensive HVAC and plumbing issues – as our regulars know – and with capacity limitations on top of it, it’s time to take some chips off the table. I’d rather call a spade and spade and exit the hair business with as much grace and class as we can muster. Cut our losses and move forward.
We worked together as a team to come to this decision. Kicked the tires on a few different ideas, tried to be creative in solution finding and alternative business models, but the best solution was for this incredible team to simply find new Salon homes. Start fresh. They are fantastic craftswomen whose professionalism will carry them wherever they may land. There’s a lot of great Salons in town as well as solo opportunities that they can rock.
Carole will be going to Chazio’s Salon in Algonquin
4075 W Algonquin Rd, Algonquin, IL 60102

As the rest of our Stylists finish their job offers, I’ll update social media with their contact info. You can also call or text the Salon and we’ll happily share information. We want these hard working women to retain and maintain their books of business.
We want to personally thank you << Test First Name >>, hopefully, for your understanding on this decision and and for your continued support of our MedSpa in Algonquin. Dr. Steve and I look forward to focusing on Wellness & Bodywork, in addition to supporting our great Esthetics team in Facials and Lashes. We’re going to miss having a fantastic hair team as part of the crew.
Thank you Cat, Carole, Charlie, Danielle, Lili, Angie, & Stephanie for giving it your all. Your hearts inspire and amaze me. I appreciate you.
