All the feels people! February was FULL of LOVE!
What a month! We took care of a ton of clients had a great time doing it. We couldn’t quite
beat last year’s couples service record since we’ve been so short staffed (please Universe send me some talent! Now hiring: 3 Massage Therapists, 1 Esti, 1 Lash Artist, 1 Stylist)
but we did a good job maximizing the availability we did have. Thank you << Test First Name >> for sharing the love! <3
Then the craziest thing happened. I got the flu. The knock down, drag out, dead to the world fever-chill-bodyache-super-bad flu! Never had it before, and man oh man it was incredible! I completely understand how people can die from it, and am grateful to be almost back to 100%. I have a new found appreciation for feeling right in your skin, and increased empathy for people with chronic body aches. I rarely fall ill, and I imagine it was a combination of not listening to my body – which has been asking for a reset/pause – combined with holding some toxic shit in! Because please believe I sweat and shivered out whatever demons there were inside me all last week. Good Lord.
So now that all that passed, I’m actually looking forward to settling into somewhat of a 2019 routine. The big holiday swings in our business are done until Mother’s Day, and we’ve gotten some big projects completed in the last few weeks! The biggest one has been bringing on a FABULOUS new hair care line, Amika! Amika products are vegan-friendly, cruelty free, as well being free from MIT, MCI, Phthalates and artificial colors. It’s a very exclusive line, not available outside of the Salon, and we absolutely love it. Their company practices are in alignment with who we are, and the product is very user friendly!
Our Manager Lauren and Lead Esti Lisa took it upon themselves to feng shui the Reception area at Carpentersville and it turned out lovely. See a video of our new layout here, or come in and see for yourselves! I love how much our team thinks about the little things that make your experience flow better!
The energy of 2019 has been all over the map so far. Lots of highs and lows among my community and my crew. I’m just gonna hold on tight and ride this roller-coaster the best way I know how… with an open heart and open mind, ready to help out whenever and however I can! I hope you all are doing something that nourishes your soul these days. I know I am.
Love to all,
